Fly Fishing Tackle
Rods
You will want to take at least two of the following to be able to vary your style, with probably a spare in case of damage:
| Purpose | Length | AFTM Weight |
|---|---|---|
| Grayling/Lenok/Trout | 8'6" to 9' | (3,) 4 or 5 |
| Nymphing | 9' to 10' | 4 or 5 |
| Taimen and Salmon | 9' to 10' | (8,) 9 or 10 |
| Two-handed | 12' to 15' | 9 or 10 |
Rod tubes can help prevent damage, at least during transit.
Reels and line
Line obviously needs to match your rod for AFTM weight. Floating line is going to get used the most, though it will pay to have spools loaded with sink tip and T-200 and T-300 intermediate sinking lines.
